I wonder how much it cost him to prevent others from injury?

One article said he raised 3 million on fund me type site. Wow!

Excellent verdict for a sad situation.

I was worried after the jury deadlocked on the greater charge. The defense was right to call for a mistrial (denied) as the jury would now heard evidence and theories for two different crimes and apply testimony for both to the lessor charge. Would also have been valid grounds for appeal.

Also now hear the jury could hear the protest chanting on the streets below from the deliberation room.

The jury finally made the right call but some jurors wanted to find Penny guilty of the greater charge.

Penny should counter sue. The Father should have taken care of his son and gotten him the proper care so he would not be a danger to others.

Suit should cover Penny's anguish and suffering because of trying to protect others. As well as the persecution he has endured.

From the threats being made against him, it would be a good idea for him to find somewhere else to live.  Shame he has to fear for his safety after going through the trial before being found not guilty.  :(

Being that I don't watch the "news", I was not aware of this situation until yesterday. Watched the video of the incident and it is easy to play armchair quarterback with what he "should have done". I am sad that the guy died but I don't think the intent was to do harm but to restrain the guy. Honestly, when he got him to the ground, the other two guys should have helped so he did not need to maintain the rear naked choke.

If the deceased and Penny were both black all of the people who are outraged today would have been just going about their daily business since the day the incident occurred. Zero outrage.

Exactly and if the crazy guy was white it would have never gone to trial!

Ex Marine took down a disturbed guy who was threatening folks on the subway.  Unfortunately the guy died after restraint when the cops were there.  All the info on watchable news.

Your answer would mean more if:

1. I thought there were such a thing as "watchable news", and

2. if I had a TV that didn't have all the news, game shows, and screaming idiots locked out, thanks to an acquaintance who knows how to do these things, and

3. If i subscribed to a news paper or other print media.

My TV is solely for watching DVDs which I mostly get for free through my  local library.  (They have  a lot of in-house DVDs and belong to a national library lending network. Thousands and thousands of titles.) or my Prime account from Amazon.

My radios are all tuned to local news and I get precious little news that comes from out of the north central Arizona region...and a lot of that is crap.

You have the internet, right?

Actually, I learned about it the day before you did. I don’t watch regular TV and I get my news online in my email and I pick and choose the news I am interested in.

Don't use TV ex. rare movies.  No radio reception in the canyon. I do get the local and a conservative weekly paper. I get my news from various carefully chosen sources online.

I find out about world happening mostly right here.  I can hit the web for more info if I need to know (it's amazing how little I NEED to know.) or find interesting (a bit more, but still not much).  My life is calmer (unless I'm driving in all the new traffic) and my BP is lower.  I have fewer head aches and sleep better, too.

Try it!  You'll like it!

my wife watches fox and listens to local and national talk , byt we never assume they are reporting correctly , often they are just off the mark till they correct it - and they do , thats the kind of joun;alism with a slant i want , the big thing here is that i dont want a slant - i wish a;ll jounalists would report only what the facts are - as they unfold - id listen to others then , but alas its all become editorials and opininions that only represent the" presenters " opinions and political views - there is no journalistic pride they are all hacks , i could do that without their degree [i did take the classes but thatr was before the activism took hold] bottom line is just like buying guns - buyer beware - you cannot trust our media , just have to select those that tell the truth or close to it ,

had to come back to add that any time the media ewants to start actually doing their job they will bew my go-to , just quit lying and pushing your agenda - report the known facts , dont add chit that aint there , dont try to p[retend your a professional in any field your not , and dont lie

if you research your story or report what has been reported by legitamate sources [i know LE leaves things out and hifes things } to you and credit the source you win in my book , if not you dont mean chit..........................

Your wife watches Fox, good for her! They may not be 100% accurate but they’re closer than anyone else and if they do report something wrong they will correct themselves. I get my news from them and my local station for local stuff.
