What are my options for gun carts?

I'm wondering what my options are for gun carts. I used to have a Cartright cart, but of course they're out of business. I also used a Rugged Gear cart, but I'd prefer a 2-wheeled cart (like the Cartright) rather than a 3-wheel (like Rugged Gear). I have neither the tools nor the skills to make one from plans. So who is making such carts any more? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Randy Saint Eagle is making the Papa Dave cart since Dave Passed a couple of years ago. They are simple, all metal, light weight and can be easily disassembled for travel. I have one of the last carts made by Dave and love it.

I’ve got a range tactical gun cart and really like it. Pretty pricey, but I like the compactness of it when it’s folded up. It fits behind the driver/passenger seat of my small car just perfectly. It is a 4 wheeled cart, but it’s something to look at.

Range has several different sizes. The one I have is a two wheel model. They have three gun and four gun models. Not sure about two gun or five gun. And they have both two wheel and four wheel designs

Whatever you can build, modify, steal, or beg for is legal!  Find one that works for you and go for it.  Just a TIP:  I found shopping carts work well, a little hard to push on rough ground, but right now you can get them at Aldi's for $.25 each.  I got four yesterday and didn't even have to go in the store,

Looked good but I already had a Range Tactical. and carry more stuff.

Ditto!! I've been shooting now for 24 years and have used my last cart for 22. I loved it and served me well. When I saw this cart at NC I thought that's for me, it is the ultimate cart. It is compact and very light. I bought one, and I think that it's the best one that I have ever seen. Better than my old one, which I never thought that I would ever replace.

What are the price ranges? I am a VERY wet behind the ears newbie, and a gun cart is on the list of things to buy, and would like to keep it affordable for this old state slave.

I've been using a Papa Dave gun cart for 16 years, 2025 will be 17 years, still running strong.  It's durable, and lightweight. Easy to put together, and disassemble, I keep mine in the truck of my car.

my earlier cart was a 1930s [metal] bag boy golf bag cart that i got from my grandfather and set up to haul my three guns and sporting clays guns - it worked great till about three years ago when i found need for a second .....its a long story ......

so my BIL died abought that time and i inherited a newer [lighter plastic] cart , so now i have two , but either will work for me and a second for whomever , i do like the newer one because its so light and easy , i dont have issues with brakes or chalks on slopes , i carry light and mostly at this point in life thats what we want , ive added a stool to my cart as i need to sit some once in a while now after my heart attack ,

I don't know Cartright gun carts, so I googled for pictures. I think Mustang Woodcrafters gun carts could come close to what you're looking for?

I started with a used $25 jogging stroller. I added a $7 foam rifle rack. Cut out the parts I didn't need. Very light and maneuverable.

Three Board Guys make a nice lightweight wooden cart. It breaks down pretty small and is reasonably priced.

Our club and I'm sure many others have some loaner carts for folks just getting started.

My wife's gun cart was built on an identical baby stroller chassis.  It is superior to my Rugged Gun Cart chassis.  It also folds down nicely.

Dapper Dave: Check with the local club(s) to see if a pard has an extra cart or one that needs a little TLC. My first cart was one my neighbor had as an extra; a little TLC and it worked for me a few years. My new cart [Rugger Gear] was pricey, but what isn't in this game. Good luck, I'm sure there's one out there with your name on it.

That Papa Dave gun cart made by Randy Saint Eagle looks pretty good and Cemetery said his has lasted 16 years with no problems.

Break down the cost of the cart over 16 years and it seems like a pretty good deal.

     I should get one myself.

I like that gun carts are often unique. In a game where the vast majority of folks shoot Vaqueros, coach guns and 1873's, it's nice to see some variety and personal touches.

The price may be a factor, but like another person mentioned "everything in this game is expensive".

I decided to build instead of buy because I like that kind of stuff and I wanted to make one that was lightweight, modular, and could hold a cooler.

Picked up a $20 stroller on FB Marketplace, stripped it, bought a sheet of birch plywood, can of paint, and a roll of rubber matting from Amazon. After two days with a jigsaw and a drill,

BEHOLD.....The Whitey Wagon!

The bottom part is very light and can easily be removed with knob handle bolts so the cart can fold up.

Nice job Whitey, does the top of the base lift up for access to all that space?

No, the nose section is hollow down to where it becomes flat. I do have a small cubby on the side and back for ammo and such.

Another option might be to build something out of a "little red wagon".

I would be mightily tempted to put a stuffed tiger, AKA Hobbes, in the thing... :D

That was actually something I was/am considering, a folding dolly with my range bag bungee corded to the bottom and some padding for the two longs against the metal and another bungee cord. I found some folding dollys for not too many shekels.

This is about as basic as it gets. A simple golf cart with some wood attached. The pvc end caps on the wheel arms are for sticking the legs of a folding stool in and using the bungee cord to hold the seat portion to the cart. The carts cost between $5 to $15 at garage sales.

Note - This is not my cart but if I was to make another one, this would be the design.
