My grocery store used to sell calzones. This is, basically, a pizza folded in half and then the ends pinched shut. A giant ravioli. It's a sandwich.

 

They don't sell them anymore. And I know Amazon sells groceries, so out of curiosity I just went to see if they sell them at Amazon. They have gazillions of calzones.

 

But it's not the Italian calzone, which is the sandwich. It's the Spanish calzone, which is underwear.

 

They had an arc on I Love Lucy. The Ricardos and the Mertzes took a European vacation. And a couple of episodes has them in Italy. Where Ricky says that he can translate because Spanish and Italian is soooo similar.

 

And I just had this visual of them going into a little cafe and the waiter offering Lucy or Ethel a calzone.

In Spanish and Italian, Breeches are called Calzones.   

 

Without the S it is a type of food.

 

With the S it translates to Pants, Shorts, or Breeches.
