Ooh, here's a thought

And yes, I got the thought watching a television show.

 

The cops arrest the parcel delivery guy. He's in the middle of making a delivery when they bust him. The back of his truck is standing open.

 

Do they pick the parcels he dropped up off the ground and put them back in the truck and lock the door? Or do they just cuff him and stuff him and drive away to the cop shop leaving the truck standing open in the back door up for anybody that wants to take stuff?

Seize the truck and it’s contents as possible evidence. It’s in plain sight, therefore no warrant needed. Even if his current crime is not related to the contents of the truck, if another crime is discovered it all gravy.

Nah, you just call Timmy over to keep an eye on it. His dog will help too. If anything vanishes the dog can track it down. They’ll just need Timmy to translate for them. That collie of his is a really smart dog.
