Alpo
Wasn't it amazing how they could just stand there and sing, without dancing around on the stage and swinging on ropes and having laser lights and smoke bombs?

Been my experience that the worse a band or singer is the louder their music.

That's an interesting way to put it. Schultz and Klink left the country. LeBeau was put into a Konzentrationslager.
T.K.
Robert Clary's Parents were Polish Jewish immagrants to France. Half of his 14 siblings were sent to and perished in Nazi Concentration Camps. Robert himself was put into Ottmuth camp in what is now Poland. He had # A5714 tattoed on his forearm. 1
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
That particular Crosby special featured the Hogan’s cast some in show uniforms. Bing’s company produced Hogan’s Heroes which was on ABC while the special was on CBS.
Alpo
You may have that backwards. Hogan's Heroes was CBS. I don't know where Bing's Christmas special was, so it could have been on ABC. But Hogan was CBS. The entire run.

One exception: Gene Autry couldn't sing for sour apples, but he wasn't loud and he did write some great stuff.

I don't know where Bing's Christmas special was, so it could have been on ABC. But Hogan was CBS. The entire run. Yep. from imdb Quote This edition of "The Hollywood Palace" was hosted by Bing Crosby. It aired on Christmas Day, 1965. After Bing sings, there's a midget act. He then intros and then sings with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians. Then the cast of "Hogan's Heroes" arrives in costume and character which is a bit unusual since while Bing owns the show, the cast are guesting on an ABC show-not one on their actual network: CBS! Then Bing intros Dorothy Collins-a singer who was formerly on "Your Hit Parade". After her solo, she and Bing duet on "Glow Worm". Second half hour begins with a dog act in which the dog mostly does nothing while having a deadpan face as his "master" keeps trying to get him to jump on the table while being enthusiastic the whole time! After that, Waring and the Pennsylvanians perform "The 12 Days of Christmas" before we segue to first John Banner and Werner Klemperer doing the original German version of "Silent Night" and then Robert Clary does his French carol. Finally, Bing brings his pre-teen son, Harry Lillis III, on stage and has him sing something before Bing does his trademark Christmas song, "White Christmas". All I'll say now is this was such a fine holiday ep of "The Hollywood Palace" to watch and I highly recommend it for fans of both Der Bingle and "Hogan's Heroes".
