Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Good Day: The center portion of the backing plate on my Kirst Konverter is frozen & will not rotate. I have not used it for years, but I would like to use it now. Does anyone know how to maybe dis-assemble it, so I can remove the center piece to free it up, so it will rotate again? Thanks in advance --Dawg Quote

Cemetery Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 If you have something pointy and slim, like a dental tool, there is a small area where you can pull out the metal retaining spring. Quote
Cemetery Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Here's two photos, my finger is pointing to the area to pick-out the spring in one photo, and the other photo is my dental tool pulling the spring out. 3 Quote
Yul Lose Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I had an issue like yours and using Cemetery’s method I took it apart and found a small piece of shot in the raceway where the centerpiece travels. I cleaned it up and reassembled and lubed it and it took care of the problem. 2 Quote
