ROA Kirst Konverter Issue

Good Day:
The center portion of the backing plate on my Kirst Konverter is frozen & will not rotate.
I have not used it for years, but I would like to use it now.
Does anyone know how to maybe dis-assemble it, so I can remove the center piece to free it up, so it will rotate again?

If you have something pointy and slim, like a dental tool, there is a small area where you can pull out the metal retaining spring.

Here's two photos, my finger is pointing to the area to pick-out the spring in one photo, and the other photo is my dental tool pulling the spring out.

I had an issue like yours and using Cemetery’s method I took it apart and found a small piece of shot in the raceway where the centerpiece travels. I cleaned it up and reassembled and lubed it and it took care of the problem.
