I was "red-pilled" back in '93-'94, and in some ways, I wish I could put the blinders back on.

Used to LOVE the NFL, rarely watch now and if I do it has to be muted.

Can't watch network shows or "news".

Movies suck with very few exceptions.

I grew up on country music but can't listen to what's being produced now.

Just listen to Classic Rock and Classical Music - I grew up on country music but can't listen to what's being produced now.

I have never liked watching sports on TV. I just don’t care for it. 
We haven’t watched regular TV for years. We do streaming services.
Since I retired I do not listen to the news or talk radio. 
For music I have always loved hard rock and heavy metal - except for that guttural mike slobbering that some bands call music. 
Never liked Country except for a few songs. 
I have come to really like modern Hard Rock and Metal. New bands, new sounds, new music.

For news I get Epoch Times and 1440 emailed every day. I can count on 2 hands the number of times I have watched new on TV since 2012. Don’t need it. 
 

Since I cut out news, commercial TV and talk radio my life has gotten so much better. 
Sure, I may not know about some things that are going on, but I don’t care.

The writer of that article seems to have a real bias against a lot of people. Another Useful Idiot.

While the message of the "Matrix" franchises isn't lost on avid fans, the term "red pill" has since taken a dark and sinister turn into misogyny, extremism, and white supremacy.

 

According to Dictionary.com, "Red pill refers to (becoming enlightened to) the truth about reality, especially a truth that is difficult to accept or exposes disillusion. Online, the red pill is especially used among anti-feminist and white supremacist groups to refer to 'waking up' to the truth that women and liberal politics are oppressing men and white people."

 

 My guess is that a certain group of people were using these terms to demean those they thought were unenlightened, but it got turned around on them. Now that certain group are bitter and need to contemplate life in their safe spaces.

I mute all televised sports broadcasts. Doesn't matter what sport, although I really only watch motorsports and MLB baseball these days. The announcers in both sports are annoying as can be..."let me read all of these statistics from my computer screen, so I can sound like I know what the **** I'm talking about"....no thanks.

 

I'll watch a few shows, nothing reality (since it really isn't reality) and the only "news" that I'll watch is the weather....and they're wrong 50% of the time.

I mostly watch the Guardians (Indians) games and the announcers are great! Rick Manning retired ball player and gold glove winner. Him and his partner are great. On radio we have the best, Tom Hamilton!

Well, MY definition of "red pilled" has nothing to do with misogyny or white supremacy. To me it is choosing the red pill over the blue pill (right vs left)

The radio announcers are so much better than any TV crew. I used to watch Tennessee Volunteer games muted and listen to John Ward on the radio call the game. For some reason, the TV product feel like they have to fill every second with mindless chatter.

Not the local TV announcers we have for the Guardians. They do a great job. The national tv announcers are pathetic but I don’t hear them that often only in the playoffs, World Series and if I watch games other than our local team.

My bride and I are movie fans.
As such we keep adding to our movie library... the good movies, that is.
Casablanca, Maltese Falcon, Lost Horizon, Thin Man, 2001, Forbidden Planet, Some Like It Hot, etc, etc, etc

 

Many of these titles are on sale in 4k UHD media at blu-ray.com

I have no desire for modern/woke LGBTQWTF trash, nor scenes of actors urinating in the morning.

We are just finishing a full run of Pirates of the Caribbean in 4k.
