Tall John Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Found: My wooden cart was custom made and has a removable box on the back side. I’d like to mount a holster on either end of this box which is 7” x 8” to securely hold my pistols between stages. looking for good but inexpensive ideas.
watab kid Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 i would use an inexpensive set of drawer pulls to suspend two strong side holsters , that will be a secure mount but allow them to be removed for other use if needed , the pulls can double duty as carry handles when you remove the box , just my 2 cents
watab kid Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 those are very nice but permanent , need some flexibility in my world , but as traditional cart holsters go they are some of the best ,

Badlands Bob #61228 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I bet if you ask around, somebody will have a set of old holsters they will sell you cheap. Or find some at the local state match yard sale.
Chancy Shot, SASS #67163 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 If you are looking for a cheap inexpensive way to carry pistols on a gun cart, here it is. Cut a piece of leather, fold it over and nail it down. I used fancy brass tacks. Chancy

He did a great job on Ellie's holster rig as well. I'll try to find some info on him. We ordered the cart holsters first to check colors and borders. Also got out badge holders from him. He and his wife spent at least an hour on the phone with Ellie getting her rig figured out. Just noticed, even the price list is missing! EH

There was a thread a little while back that he was a bit back logged. But this site looks different, so I wonder if something got messed up with it. It used to have a tan background and there were lots of pictures. Weird!

Contact info is from when he was in North Carolina and appears to be the same as when he was in Texas. Phone: 713-703-1915 Email: johnny@jm-leather.com (all lower case) Good Luck, he's really great to work with. Eyesa
Hells Comin Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I do not want my pistols exposed to the elements so I keep them inside my ammo box in holsters and I keep my long guns covered on my cart. Out here in the southwest it can get pretty dusty and keeping them covered they rarely need cleaning! If it ever decides to rain they stay dry.
Buckey O'Neill , SASS Life #42761 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I use two IWB (Inside the Waistband) holsters with clips. Easy on - easy off.
Horace Patootie, SASS #35798 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I got one of these paintball pod carriers, turned it upside down and strapped it to my cart. Holds two pistols just fine with velcro hold down straps. I also have a leather double pistol holder but haven't used it yet. https://www.academy.com/p/tippmann-sports-series-paintball-2-pod-harness Horace
Buckeye Pete, SASS # 29941 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Tall John, I use a couple of spare holsters mounted inside of the large box on the front/bottom of my large steel framed gun cart. The box is large enough to mount one holster on each side of the box. I used a piece of belt mounted to the box that mounts the holster with a couple of large head wood screws. The guns are out of the weather/dust and easy to grasp and put in my holsters. If you mount one to the outside of the small box on your cart, I would suggest a hammer thong to keep them from falling out when you move your cart. Good luck. Buckeye Pete
Ashley D Austin Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I hang holsters on either side of my cart using trailer safety pins. The pistols are further secured by leather tongs in the holsters.
