Deacon Doug
With Christmas coming, I’ve been getting bombarded with advertisements for Laser Dry Fire Systems. It finally piqued my curiosity so I looked at several. Do any of you use one for practice? Can it be used for both Cowboy and Wildbunch practice? What are your recommendations? I know that practicing transitions and such is the standard answer, I would like to hear about using these laser systems as an alternative/additional way to practice. Thanks in advance. Happy Jack, SASS #20451
I highly recommend the MANTIS systems. They show before and after data. Thew make systems for revolvers, semi-autos, and rifles.

irish ike, SASS #43615
For me the issue always was it doesn't account for recoil and target acquisition.
Happy Jack, SASS #20451
The Mantis X3 works with both LIVE fire and dry fire. The only bad thing it will show bad your technique really is.
Texas Jack Black
Still can not find a system that would work with our revolvers. The Mantis works great with a semi

Ashley D Austin
I have found dry firing with a laser in the bore of my pistols, or rifle, helps with establishing grip and aim. I put small targets on a wall, usually post it notes and draw. No need to actually pull the trigger and chance damaging a firing pin.
