Dusty Morningwood Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 (edited) Sold This is an interesting rolling block carbine. It started life as an unmarked M79 Argentine Rifle in .43 Spanish. At some point, probably before being imported to US in 50s or 60s, it was shortened to carbine length. The shortened forend lacks the carbine band keeper and has had the cleaning rod channel filled. Barrel was shortened to carbine length and correct front and rear sights added. You can faintly see the arsenal filled original rear sight hole forward of the carbine sight. There is no saddle ring. Like the majority of the Argentine rolling blocks this one is heavily refinished. All metal parts are blued. Stock is refinished and has an hourglass shaped arsenal repair on forend. Action is like new and bore is excellent. It has been my observation that the unmarked M79 rifles and carbines are usually in better shape and possibly unissued. A working theory. It should be a fine shooter without the worry of messing up a collector grade gun. $400 + Shipping. Edited January 8 by Dusty Morningwood 3 Quote
