About 0230. 0430 as we were leaving just in case Sunrise in Rohnert Park Got home the next day, looking NE. About half way up between the roof and the top of the photo is a ridgeline about 900 yards away. Gas was shut off. So we improvised for hot water. 4 1 Quote

Cactus Jack Calder Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Denali Peak 8/7/14. We were told that only a small percentage of people actually get to view the peak. We waited quite a while for the clouds to move. I got 5-6 photos as they moved off. This is probably the best shot. The end of Glacier Bay Alaska, probably a week later. We were on a cruise ship. It traveled up the bay for at least 1/2 hour to reach the face of the glacier. In the 1800’s the bay was covered for miles with solid glaciers out to the inter coastal waterway. Many miles of ice are gone now. One of the best trips Miss Susie May, and I ever took. CJ 6 Quote
Three Foot Johnson Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 My house being bombed by a P3 retardant bomber during the "Bucksnort" wildfire in August of 2000. When the plane flew over, the firefighters all pulled out cameras and started snapping away. I said, "You guys see this every day for months on end during the summer, why the cameras?" Turns out, they would pick out the best pictures and send them to Wildland Firefighter magazine, and if one got published, they got paid for it. 1 4 Quote

It doesn't appear I ever answered this question. I always think of navy blue being very dark, while 'Devil Dog' is a deep blue, close to the blue of the Blue Angels. 3 Quote
DocWard Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 I ran across this one of our Border Collie, Piper, who has since passed, keeping watch over the newborn kitten that my daughter brought home after he appeared to be abandoned by his mother. He still had his umbilical attached when he came home, and we were told he likely wouldn't survive. He did, his name is Fred. Piper was very concerned and protective, often laying close to the tub we had him in. 3 3 Quote
