G'day mates.....

I got admitted into a private hospital yesterday for a week's poking, prodding and tests to find out what's going on with this autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with 3 years ago..... So I'll be quiet on here but hoping to be reading what you're all talking about :)

I certainly wish you the best of luck in reaching a quick and positive diagnosis and complete recovery. Looks like you have a nice room!

Try to make sure that any long term IV or drip goes into your off arm...ask me how I know this.

Best wishes!   Dad was a distinguished physician and advised late in life on the dangers of "falling into the hands of doctors" nearing the age he was then, I have come to understand.

I'm 2 hours drive from my rural home. Like in a B grade motel where they stick pins in you and wake you up every two hours through the night to do tests..... Shouldn't complain it's a very new private upmarket room in a private hospital and the staff are exemplary..... But it's still hospital and an hour is a long time.... Besides monitoring the only thing to look forward to is fasting on Monday an a MRI scan late Tuesday. They started me on steroids last night.... Which stopped me sleeping..... Sorry to whinge I am feeling sorry for myself... Jen will be here soon for a visit.

Wishing you comfort, relief, and a speedy return home.

To the extent allowed, don't vegetate in bed while you are there. The two days I recently spent in the hospital with my TIA weakened me and regaining activity has felt like I might have had a horrible 2-week flu. Sit up. Stand up. Walk.

My legs ached the first time I walked to the mailbox the day after I got home. Yesterday I walked over a good part of a nearby downtown area without problems, it has now been a couple months.

A whole week of getting poked does not sound like fun to me. Hopefully they find the answers to the questions. Looks like they have your CPAP all set up for you. It looks just like mine. LOL Hope you don't lose too much weight eating that hospital food.

I'm trying to think of something useful, intelligent, uplifting, inspiring, and at least a little humorous to add, and the mind just went blank!

Everything worthwhile has already been said!

Heal up, the Saloon is improved with you in it!

Watch carefully what they feed you.
I'm a labile diabetic, and my HMO (tried to) feed me enough carbs to put me into a diabetic coma.

I pointed this out to my day nurse.
She stood over the trash can throwing item after item from my meal tray into the trash.
"Can't eat this... can't eat that".

My angel of mercy finally found me an omelette and some sausage after 18 hours of no food.

Personally, I would be looking at an auto-immune as a serious wakeup call to get back to an entirely natural diet.
No more processed foods, no more goodies, no more junk.

If you can't hunt it down and kill it, or pick it up off the ground or from a bush... don't eat it.

Get well, please.
AI disease is nothing to fiddle with.

Get better quick.

While nice for a hospital, the decor  is always a bit on the spartan side and not as in "Gladiator" either.

Old doctor joke:

Two doctors are conferring about patient’s case and one says to the other, “Well, I don’t what’s wrong with him either, but let’s treat him before he gets better on his own.”

Hope you get some answers, Jim. All my best to you.

When my Dad was still in practice, he use to joke "the undertaker buries the doctor's mistakes."
