@bgavin the 5rd magazine is handy for hunting, less protrusion to catch on things.   By only selling up to 10rd magazines they have limited SKUs, saving them money and retailers headaches.  No ordering the wrong model with "high" capacity magazines.

Looks like the Homesteader with S&W adapter can be had online starting at $650.  Brownells has the Glock adapter for $30.

My  LGS gave me a price of $850 with an adapter out the door.

You still get the 10 & 5 rounder with it.

Well, I guess we just lost the chance at a first hand report…

That’s why we’re here. To help make decisions on how to spend your money. ;)

Rye, I do the same thing. I find something interesting and unless there is an absolute need or desire I think about it for a couple of days before making a final decision.

I wish Henry would bring it out in 10mm.

Did you know Ruger just came out with their LC Carbine in 10mm?

Rye Last year I bought a Diamondback Firearms DB9 for under $700 from Buds. ($708.99, right now) It is a dedicated 9mm AR platform rifle. It has a full length pic. rail , no sights and uses Glock mags. I am having a lot of fun with it in our AutoChallenge matches. Not on a cowboy weekend.

Before you buy any AR-9 peruse & search lots of forums on the model you’re interested in. I understand they are a lot more reliable now, but some were very finicky a few years back.
One gun salesman told me “Some AR-9s are like sexy pampered women. Treat them nice and give them what they like and they’ll treat you nice. If you don’t the relationship gets bitter quick!” Meaning they were ammo finicky and required lots of cleaning, from what he told me. That was how I ended up with my Ruger PC Carbine.
