Pat Riot
I don’t recall this one, but it did come out 3 years before I was born. Judging by the write up in Wikipedia I didn’t miss anything.

I was 10 yrs old but I don't remember ever seeing it. I was too busy watching Roy Rogers, Hopalong, Lone Ranger, Wild Bill Hickock, Gunsmoke, Wyatt Earp etc. I'm just catching these now on Grit. Blackwater 53393
There was also Yancy Derringer, played by Jock Mahoney. He also starred in The Range Rider. Then there was The Grey Ghost and The Rough Riders and a half dozen more that I vaguely recall. Some were pretty good and some were, as Rye said, pretty hokey.
Tex Jones, SASS 2263
Chris Colt as portrayed by Wade Preston. The show didn't last long as Warner Bros and Preston had a falling out and the show was cancelled. This show was part of the western series produced by WB: Maverick, Cheyenne, Sugarfoot, Bronco Layne, and Lawman. The same thing happened to several of those shows! Yancy Derringer only ran one season, (although seasons back then ran thirty or more episodes) because CBS demanded a piece of the ownership of the show! Those who did own the show refused and the second season, which had already been promised sponsorship by Johnson’s Wax, was cancelled!! Television hasn’t learned much in sixty plus years!! They STILL do the same thing today for one reason or another!!!
Rube Burrows
I haven't seen this one yet. I have been watching The Rebel while on the tredmill. I have been watching two episodes which gets me almost to the three mile mark. Been a great show
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
It has been playing locally on MeTV. I remember the theme song from when I was a kid. There is a story on YouTube where the producer is talking about the show. He has the Colts from the show and says the salaries were so low Preston had to have another job. He was a pilot. He asked Warners for an advance to repair his airplane and then disappeared on some flying jobs for a few weeks so they fired him. That reminds me. In the audience for the show on YouTube was Hugh O'Brien. I remember back during one of the early SASS conventions in Vegas we were setting up a display table and noticed Hugh O'Obrien in a wheelchair trying to get into the hall and the guard would not let him in. I went over and said "do you know who that is?" The young fellow said "no." I said that is Hugh O'Brien. He said "who?" That was almost 20 years ago. Think how few people remember the old western stars now. That is one of the prime reasons recruiting for SASS is so difficult. Edited November 18, 2024 by Larsen E. If you recall, Mr. O'Briens signage used to have an arrow directing you toward his booth with the caption, Hugh O'Brien "He's still alive?". The old Nick at Nite, Grit and MeTv are some of the reasons that anyone under 70 know of any of these shows or actors.
Rye Miles #13621
Speaking of Hugh OBrien, I saw him in a movie last night called Seminole. He’s was an Indian with shaved head and he’s was a real angry brave!! 1953 movie 🍿 Edited November 18, 2024 by Rye Miles #13621
