I'm going to enjoy reading the outrage from the opposition. :D

I do expect an extended court battle over this if passed.

Now that they've got their chosen candidate in the White House, the NRA is raring to go with their extremist agenda. Their number one priority? Pushing a dangerous law that would force all 50 states to allow violent criminals, domestic abusers, and even convicted stalkers to carry hidden, loaded guns in public.

"

Looking forward, non-resident permits also need to be honored. Vermont does not issue permits so its citizens must get non-resident permits to carry in at least some states. And this on the assumption a permit is constitutional in the first place.

I think it's soooo funny how every presidential election, some people of notoriety say if a certain person wins, they're going to leave the country. It is being reported that now an increase of 1514% of people are saying they will leave.  I've always thought those are the people we want to leave, but then they never really do.

Notice that Bloomin’idiot’s phony “grass roots anti-gun organization” still puts up a picture of their number one boogeyman, (LaPierre) in their publications!!

They’re probably buried in their own soiled diapers right about now!!

The obvious tactic of saying criminals and such will run wild as a result is once again being employed!

If you’re a criminal or , in some cases, even if you’ve only been accused of a crime, you can’t obtain a permit legally in most, if not every state! Never mind the FACT  that the criminals are already running wild in the places where the right to protect one’s self is infringed upon or in some cases outright prohibited!!

I carry my state’s enhanced carry permit. Even though Tennessee is now a Constitutional Carry State, we have changed our original carry permit to be more valid as a form of identification and a form of verification that the person in possession has received training and certification of competency.  We also have the same permit in a lifetime issue permit which I will obtain when I renew if National Reciprocity is approved!!

Meanwhile, foreign real estate agents are sitting on their thumbs just waiting for their phone calls.

I wish they would leave...I'd say Well, Bye!

I'll believe the Nationwide reciprocity when I see it, but I'll probably die of old age before it gets done playing out in the courts.

Well while I love the idea, I don't think a president can enact an executive order to allow National Concealed Carry. I'm not a lawyer but it doesn't seem like it's liable.

Even though the article is scant on details, it does say he would like an "Act", which sounds to me like having it go through Congress to make it Law.

Another article on this.

From the article: To be sure, U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, (R-NC), who has continued to reintroduce his concealed carry reciprocity bill that originally died back in 2018, has won reelection and is seeking a second term as National Republican Congressional Committee Chair. Should the GOP win the House-- as of Monday morning, they had secured 214 of 218 needed seats and are leading in at least eight undecided races-- it is likely Hudson's reciprocity could once again pass that body in 2025.

There would need to be legislation for the National Reciprocity to work.  Otherwise, the anti gun bunch will just tie things up in court and the next president could undo it with a swipe of the pen.  They already do it for driver's licenses and LEOSA already allows firearm carry for active and retired law enforcement nationally.    I'd also like to see a national preemption law that would make any state or local law restricting firearms or ammunition void.  Federal law only would be enforced nationally on firearms, ammunition, possession, sales, and carry.

The counter argument to that is that the next time the opposition controls Congress, they either repeal the law or amend it to allow a Federal ban on firearms, ammunition, possession, sales and carry.

I  am reluctant to surrender authority to a federal government that we will not always have a majority in.

The bottom line however should be that our Constitutional rights should not change or be eliminated when we cross State lines. If my driving privileges are good everywhere I go, so should my Constitutional rights. At least within the USA. Don't most other countries recognize our driving privilege license, but yet here in our own country we have a constant battle over our rights.

To my limited knowledge, the Second Amendment is the only right we have that is restricted by thousands of laws and depends on where you reside.

They did that once, nobody pays attention to it:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”

Has anyone noticed that the blurbs from the anti-gun crowd are saying that the conservative laws will do what the anti-gunners' laws are already doing and twhat heir new laws will do worse.

Don't the idiot drones see the hypocrisy in this crap?

They don’t comprehend hypocrisy!! They have been raised in a society that has no concept of real truth. Morality is relative to their own self image and how they think others should feel toward them! In their world, a man’s, (person’s) word has little value because their own word is of no value at all!  They have few or no ingrained values and they are satisfied with either side of the coin so long as it didn’t come out of their pocket and it lands on the side that profits them!

So NO!! They don’t see or understand hypocrisy in themselves.  Their, “It’s all good,” attitude allows them to rationalize away their own falseness.  They are, in their view entitled, and therefore faultless when it effects any one but themselves!!

It shouldn't even be on the political table.

"Constitutional rights may not be infringed simply because the majority of the people choose that they be."(Westbrook v. Mihaly 2 C3d 756)

and

"The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal principles to be applied by the courts. One's right to life, liberty, and property, to free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections."

: Robert H. Jackson, US Supreme Court Justice West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943)

If we’re going to have nation wide reciprocity, now would be the time!  The Rs just picked up the 218th seat in the House last night!!

If ya’ could get them all to vote along party lines, it’d work!
