Alpo
Did you choose? Did your spouse choose? Or was no specific date chosen - it just happened to be that day? That was the only date the preacher had open? I chose. I told my wife if she wanted me to remember our anniversary we needed to get married on a date I could remember. We got married on D-Day. I suspect my brother chose. It would seem a wild coincidence if my brother, a Marine, just accidentally got married on November 10th. I figure he chose that date so he could remember. My daughter told me that she got married on Valentine's Day because she wanted her husband to remember their anniversary. There are people that get married on one or the other of them's birthday. Get married on any holiday.
Forty Rod SASS 3935
I did. I was going into the Army in a couple of weeks and told her it was now or never. She ran in the house, came out wearing a blue dress that she had borrowed from her sister (something borrowed, something blue - 2 at the same time), a jeweled pin that had been her grandmother's (something old) and a Ruger Bearcat that I had given her a week before (something new)....total elapsed time was less than 20 minutes....and we drove to downtown Ogden and got married by Justice of the Peace...just 20 minutes before he was leaving for the day $12.50 (I still have the receipt) + two bucks apiece for two ladies I Shanghied off the elevator to be witnesses. Alpo
I used to tell people, just to get their reaction. It was easy for my parents to remember their anniversary. They got married on my brother's birthday. And they did. They got married in 52, and he was born in 54, but it was still March 22nd. For their second anniversary my father gave my mother a brand new Oldsmobile Delta 88. And my mother gave my father a son. I think she got the better deal. Dr. Zook
My wife & I chose the date April (too Many bad memories in March - married Ex #1, Married wife #2 and she passed away 4 days before our 14th anniversary). Now for something much more positive: My grandparents chose their wedding day 1 day after grandmom turned 21 (GM B-day 25th, G-parents anniversary 26th, grandson (me) 27th - 34 years later). 😁

Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103
It was the only day we'd have off together for the next three months. It is sheer and fantastic coincidence that it was Halloween. Honest!
DocWard
We both did. November 17, 1990. We decided we would get married when we would have a week's break in college so we could go on a honeymoon. Saddam Hussein and Uncle Sam decided honeymoon's aren't really that important.
Tyrel Cody
I sort of did. I asked her out to lunch on 9/21, so when we got married we just stuck to that day 9/21.

Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life
We were engaged (I was 22 she was 21) and I got my Draft notice. I was to report December 9, 1963. We discussed the situation and she wanted to stay with October 20, 1964. October 20th has a lot of significance for both our families. It was my Grandfather's and G Grandfather's birthday for my family. It was also her birthday and her Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary for her family. So it was the 20th of October for our wedding....also my birthday is the 29th of October so it is a special month for both of us. Last October we celebrated our 60th anniversary. No I never forget the date!!!
Subdeacon Joe
"How can we easily let all our friends know?" We were both very active in the SCA. Almost all our friends were involved in it. Picked a major event around when we wanted to do it, had the wedding done by a rent a minister in our front yard, fed everyone, and made it down to Palo Alto for evening court. Just happened to also be May 5th.

Pat Riot
The Navy helped us choose. We had planned on being married on March 22nd. My wife had everything set up, but for some reason the Navy decided to keep me at Great Lakes a while longer. So, everything got moved to April 12th and I only had a couple of days before wedding. We were married. Our “Honeymoon” was one night in a Quality Inn motel and the next day we flew to Minnesota so I could start “C” school on Monday for Mk 26 GMLS (guided missile launching systems) I was 19. My wife was 20. We have had a 44 year honeymoon. 1
