12 Monkeys!

My thought also.

Saw somewhere, "They were too young to have been used in an experiment". :o

Based on media truthfulness the last few years, I can only hope.

And here I thought this thread was going to be about politicians!  (Of both parties)

Anyone else rooting for the monkeys?

If they make their way to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC and hook up with some crafty penguins they could be on their way to Madagascar in no time.
I saw this on a documentary.

Micky Dolenz has given his endorsement to them!

Monkey Island.

Quote

Monkey colony

Historically, the island has been uninhabited due to its location and distance from the mainland. Originally, the monkey colony now located on Morgan Island was located at the Caribbean Primate Research Center in La Parguera, Puerto Rico. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were incidents of the free-ranging monkeys escaping, carrying viral herpes B infections, which lead to outbreaks in the local population. Puerto Rico was alarmed by this, and South Carolina stepped in to offer an uninhabited island for research. In 1979 and 1980, over 1,400 animals were relocated to Morgan Island.

The island is owned by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR). The monkeys that live on the island are owned by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and used for public health research.

Pay wall.  But you can read enough to get the gist of it.

Seven pounds of monkey is like seven pounds of feral cats....with thumbs.  Don't mess with them.

News this morning showed them having a ball jumping around in the trees across the road from their fenced in area. Said they were leaving a food trail back into the enclosure.

That is 301# with 43 sets of teeth, 86 arms, 86 legs.  A monster I have no interest in meeting.

Can you imagine going fishing and you’re sitting there enjoying the day but you have this suspicion you’re being watched. You turn and there are 43 monkeys sitting in the trees and on the ground watching you.
You open your only granola bar and…

"The monkeys are nonviolent, but may be growing restless due to hunger, he said."  I've never seen NatGeo address this situation but SyFy has, and it didn't end well for the humans.

You should probably keep some bananas handy just in case they try to flank you. Keep the monkey of your back, so to say.🙉

But Rye, these monkeys are in an Urban/Suburban location.  You don't get to have a gun.  Just you and da monkeys.  NO weapons.
