Warden Callaway
I thought Dad odd. Great Depression, CCCs, WWII, farmed with mules and horses until 1950s. But he wanted nothing other than Wonder bread. Also, wouldn't use farm fresh raw milk.

Warden Callaway
Granddaughter did a grade school science project where she had some six examples of bread. It showed the rate of spoilage. The Wonder bread never did spoil or mold. It just dried out like toast. Mary makes a lot of bread and she buys old fashion bread made by a Mennonite bakery. Got to eat it up within a day or two. Commercial bread will still look good for weeks.
Rye Miles #13621
When my mom’s homemade bread started to get stale, we used it for soup instead of crackers. It would last about a week.
Blackwater 53393
I’m not a big white bread fan! I prefer the whole grain breads and ryes. Dark brown bread, (yeah… I know it’s usually colored) when it’s made from whole wheat is my favorite. I don’t care so much for stuff made with bleached flour. To me there was nothing like my mother’s fresh made Italian bread! I sure do miss it! I do like wheat and rye as well. Sour dough is a big favorite too!
