Alpo
I am aware that a scalpel or a hypodermic needle or anything else that can draw blood is referred to as a sharps. In doctor's offices I see a red container on the wall for disposal of sharps. But that seems to me a generic term. If you were going to tell someone that there were three hypodermic syringes in that drawer over there, would you say, "there are three sharps in that drawer"? Second panel. The little green girl has toxic saliva. And she's at the age where she chews on things, including people. The guy speaking is a doctor. But it just seemed strange to refer to an unused syringe as a one-use sharp. At least it seems strange to me.
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
The comic is wrong. A sharps container is like a recycle bin. Everything in it is sharp, just like everything in the recycle bin is recyclables.
Rip Snorter
Heck, I know a garage that has a flats container, but the contents can actually be recycled.
