oak creek martin
Well, it’s daylight savings time and I always replace the 9volt smoke detector batteries on that day. Made me stop to think what to do with those batteries. I always take them out of the detector and check them and they seem to be full of juice i.e. when you touch them to your tongue. I think a great repurpose would be take them to your local club and put them in the timers. Save the club some money. Make sure that you don’t put them in a big box and let the ends touch this will cause a fire.

Rip Snorter
I support the local club and collectors association without a thought. The Smoke Detectors chirp, though they are hardwired as well. Never be without 9 volt batteries. I discovered that other than ripping them off the wall, they will not stop chirping - think the Terminator. Badlands Bob #61228
I buy the lithium battery smoke detectors. They are good for 10 years. I found that the 9 volt battery smoke detectors always start chirping at 2:00 a.m. 1
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
I replaced some failed smoke alarms last year. The new ones came with cheap Chinese carbon zinc batteries that I replaced with better batteries. I keep a few in my gun cart to toss to a TO if needed to replace a dead timer battery. They are good enough to get through a match. Edited November 5 by Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 clarification
G W Wade
I worked as a cook at the local nursing home. They changed fire alarm batteries on regular schedule. I would bring a box to my local clubs. All premium stock and no problems GW Edited November 5 by G W Wade
