Rip Snorter
So, she IS going to get me boots for my birthday later this month. Central Montana, at the prices she is considering from Tony Lama, any experience with custom maker two or three hours away?

PowderRiverCowboy
Dont Know any custom in the area Boulets are good boots but seriously have worn any other brand but Olathe since my uncle retired from Justin Only wore Olathe when riding which drew some looks when I would visit John Jr in the Justin box at NFR. I still only wear Olathe.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
I started wearing Dan Post boots about 25 years ago when I couldn't afford anything better. (you don't earn much when your aerospace company.....not really mine, but I worked for them..... loses a bid for a big government contract.) Learn which ones fit, and make ertain they do actually fit, care for them, and they will last a long time. They can usually have new heels and soles put on. I just had mine done for the fourth time for soles and eleventh time for heels. That pair are close to nineteen years old and I won't have them done again. They are now my yard work boots and I have four other pair for anything up to and including a coronation...or the Marine Corps Birthday Banquet and Ball on the 10th of this month. BTW, the ones I get are about $200.00 these days at Boot Barn or C.A.L. Ranch. Hint: if you want a really good and very easy shine, get KIWI Parade Gloss Polish. I had to order it from Amazon because few stores around here carry ANY shoe polish at all. So far I have only found it in black. I had really bad experience with Ariat. I actually threw them away, and I have boots that are wearable 30 years on. Glad yours were good.
