Doc Moses
If we can do the moon thing why can't Lee make a handle for their press that will stay on? I have used, silicone, you can see the tape under the handle to try and make the fit tighter...why of why? Is it really that hard of a task? Abilene, SASS # 27489
toothpicks. Hammer it on with a rubber mallet. No, I haven't done this because my knob only occasionally comes loose and I just push down on it and twist a little. But toothpicks fix other stuff where the hole is too big. And what is this man on the moon stuff? Unless you have a time machine, It's 1879 my friend. 2

Cholla
I recommend roughing up the shaft with sandpaper and then using epoxy. If that doesn't work, drill a hole through the ball and shaft while it's in place and drive a slightly larger finish nail into it to act as a pin. 6

Cypress Sun
JB Weld is your friend. Edit - Just make sure that you clean all of the tape glue and oils from both surfaces to be "welded" together. In 24 hours after use, you won't be able to get it off. Edited November 2 by Cypress Sun 4

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
That is one of the reasons Lee equipment costs less than RCBS, Hornady or Dillon. JB Weld and a pinning the ball to the shaft is a good solution.

paradiddle
Mine did the same thing so I sanded the handle top and epoxied it on. Held perfectly. Then I upgraded to the angled Lee handle and it is a game changer. Way better then the ball.
