Widder, SASS #59054 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Well, I called up ole TW this morning thinking I might hear some good news about a new gun he's bought, or maybe his 65 Chevelle is running, etc..... Basically, just talk about good stuff. BUT, he's DEPRESSED. Real bad depressed. I sez..... "What's got ya down and feeling bad?" TW sez....... "wife and I got into a BIG argument and she told me she wasn't gonna speak to me for a whole MONTH". Ole Widder replies:....... "well, that ain't as good as 2 months, but still, ONE WHOLE is pretty good. Why would that make you feel depressed?" TW sez....... "The argument was back on October 1st. That whole month ends TODAYT!" NOW WE ALL CAN UNDERSTAND WHY TW IS DEPRESSED. ..........Widder 3 2 10 Quote

(I'm trying to convince him that he "needs" a Ruger PCC in 9mm. It uses Glock magazines, of which he has plenty). She also HATES it when he gets his head shaved, and won't speak to him until it grows out an inch or more. I keep telling him to get the gun, then stop on the way home and get a haircut! 2 8 Quote

Subdeacon Joe Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 He should scower her favorite iron skillet with steel wool then run it through the dishwasher. You know, get it nice and clean. 5 Quote

If you have one that'll make you cornbread real reg'lar like, I'd make for sure nobody else touched her favorite skillet! Heck, I hide my money in the oven. It's the only place nobody will find it at my house! 5 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 (edited) I don’t hide mine!! I just keep it in an account that she don’t have access to!! She keeps the books and pays the bills and I just check behind her. She knows I got it and she can get it from me when she needs it. NOW!! I keep a few bucks in cash in a stack of pie plates in the pantry! She don’t bake pies!! It’s got to where she’s resigned to the fact that I’m gonna buy gun ‘n’ hotrod stuff! I can’t help it and she just rolls her eyes and asks, “Where ya’ gonna put THIS?” when it arrives at the door!! If I tell her that I’m going to New York City to jump off the Empire State Building, she’ll look at me kinda’ sideways like and ask, “You got the money??” Edited November 1, 2024 by Blackwater 53393 4 Quote

My mom had one that was handed down to her. She ended up with dementia and ruined it when she forgot she was cooking and the food began to burn! She panicked and threw it outside in the rain and it broke. I bought a new Lodge 10" a few years back and sanded the pre-seasoning off and it's now well seasoned and guarded. 1 Quote
