Fell asleep again! Watching highlights. Dodgers pitcher Yamamoto did great!

I was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado.  The Pueblo Dodgers were the minor league team for the (then) Brooklyn Dodgers.  My dad took me to many Pueblo Dodger games, and we ate at their favorite restaurant, the Canton Inn, across the street from Dad's office.  My first grade teacher married a Dodger player.  Guess who I am rooting for!

Went to the home of a friend who has been a huge fan and supporter of our band for twenty-five or more years!!

He throws a Halloween party every year that we’ve played for years and we’re always invited if we don’t play!

Super great party with the best food in town!

I got to see the last out.

Ah, WELL!

IDK.  I can't call this one.  I am Southern to my marrow so can't have no Damn Yankees but I am still pissed at the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn.

That was a bit exciting, was it not?

The 9th inning was a nail biter, the rest...not so much.

With Ohtani being injured, it will be interesting to see how the strategy changes.  There is a whole lot of gamesmanship behind what details and how much are going to be divulged.  They may "Say" he's going to play, but will he really...........

Well he hasn’t been doing much, he’s 1 for 8 I believe. I hope he’s okay but if he can’t play I think they’ll do okay without him.
They said it’s a partial shoulder separation 🙄

Derek Jeter will throw out the first pitch. Leslie Odom will sing the National Anthem. Aaron Tveit will sing God Bless America. Some guy called Fat Joe will do something pregame.

Yankees will….  Nope I’m going to keep you in suspense so you can watch the game.

First Ice T (who sings about killing cops) and then whatever that thing was supposed to be. WTH???

Dodgers up 3 - 0 (should be 4 -0 but a bad home plate call) bottom of the 5th. Outstanding throw from left field by Hernandez to get the runner at home.

Yep, terrible!

4-0 now,  close play at home but safe!!!

While the pregame crap with Ice Cube and Fat Joe turn us old farts off, we don’t spend money on baseball. MLB is trying to engage the younger folks who do spend money.

It’s not just old farts  there’s plenty of young people that don’t like that crap! MLB is woke and ultra liberal.

Nobody has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a 7 game series oh yeah except 20 years ago when the Red Sox beat the Yankees for the AL pennant.

You’re right but no one has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a World Series!

Yeah, it'd be over and no more baseball until next year....but the Damn Yankees would be crushed in defeat. It would be worth missing 3 extra games!

Game 5 of that series turned my wife into a baseball fan.  I'd been listening to the game on my way home from work, turned on the television when I got home.  I think it was the 7th inning. Lisa got home during the 8th inning and looked at me, "You remember that there's a show I want to watch on at 6, right?"  "It's the 8thy inning, one more inning, it will be over soon."
Now, she wasn't a fan, she thought it was just try to hit the ball and run around.  Nobody had ever bothered to talk to her about baseball strategy and tactics.

Anyway, 9th inning ended, she was going to change channels.  "Wait!  It's not over!" "But baseball is only 9 innings!"  "But it's tied up, and the play offs.  They play till someone wins." (wifely glare) We get through the 10th.  Start of the 11th, "Nine innings, huh?"  So I started talking, making my guesses as to what the pitcher would throw, what the batter and runners would do and why.. 12th inning she started asking questions.  13th inning she started making her guesses as to what the batter would do.

Next day, game 6.  Same thing, I got home, but only about 30 seconds before she did, just barely had time to set stuff down in the kitchen.  She came in, looked at the television, "Why isn't the game on?"

Since then our running gag is 'Nine innings, huh?"

I didn’t get to watch much of the game again last night!!  Caught some highlights when I got home early this morning, (real early!! <_<) and I’m seeing more now.

I hate that the Yankees aren’t making adjustments in their approach to hitting, (something I coached my youth baseball players to do when they weren’t hitting) and that it looks like the series is gonna be a short one. More baseball is always to be wished for!!

Hopefully, I will get to see the game tonight!!

The Rays play the Yankees 13 to 14 times a year. The rivalry between the two has been pretty vicious for the last 10 years or so.

I have never liked most of the Yankee players of the last 20 years, except Judge and Jeter. I especially dislike the coaches (Boone and Girardi in particular) and ex-pitchers Sabathia and Chapman.

The present-day players, Judge excepted, are just arrogant, way overpaid narcissists that show poor sportsmanship if things don't go their way. Strictly my opinion of course.

Go Dodgers!
