Cpt Dan Blodgett, SASS #75655
I know Henries generally suck for Cowboy action shooting, but is anyone out there actually shooting one of these? I have a pair of .32 HRM Single Sixes and all things being equal would prefer to not mix calibers between pistols and rifles. I don't really mind loading the mag tube from the front like I have to for my 1860 Henry but it would be nice if Henry put a loading gate on this rifle. I am pretty slow not sure if that helps the Henry not malfunction. I do not want issues with a rifle to cause me to spend more on aspirin than I would spend shooting .32 pistols and any other caliber rifle of which I have a few. Appreciate feed back from those shooting one.
Margarita Marie
Cpt. Dan, my granddaughter shot one for a couple of years when she was shooting .32s. Her Dad and Grandpa didn't want her to mix calibers either. She never had a problem but then graduated to .38s. Her Grandpa will occasionally shoot .32s and after changing the .327 back to the original stock. shoots it and has never outrun the rifle. It's just not as smooth and has a longer stroke and you do not want to short stroke it!!!! I keep waiting to see him send the loading tube follower down range at the loading table but it has not happened yet!!!
