Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
The other day after returning from the Veterinarian Office, we stopped by one of the Publix grocery stores to pick up miscellaneous items as we made final preparations for the upcoming hurricane. Ann went in while I stayed in the truck with the girls, and upon returning she stated that they had everything she had on her list but found getting a loaf of bread impossible. She picked up hamburger and Hawaiian rolls as an alternative. On the way home, we stopped by the gas station just to top off the fuel tank [we had filled it up earlier; however, with the long run to the Veterinary, felt it better to be safe. The first available pump I found to be out of gas at all octane levels only after I had put in my credit card and pushed all the buttons to no avail. I cancelled the transaction and was able to move up to the next pump when that vehicle was through. While filling up the truck, a vehicle pulled up to the pump I had just left. A middle-aged woman got out and as she started to enter her credit card, I quickly approached her [ at which point she became somewhat startled] and advised her that that pump was no longer pumping gas. I then suggested that she use the pump I was getting ready to finish with. It was at that moment that she became very thankful for my assistance and grabbed a loaf of bread she had just purchased from Winn-Dixie and offered it to me. I declined her offer and told her that it was kind of her but that I did not want to take her own bread. She then advised that it was a BOGO and that it was just her and her husband and that the second loaf would most likely go bad before they could use it. I then obliged her offer, taking the loaf of bread and thanking her. Ann was as amazed as I was that her act of kindness was to provide the one food item that Ann was unable to acquire. GOD works in amazing ways. 10

Subdeacon Joe
Thanks for the uplifting story about Americans helping Americans. Amazing the small miracles we encounter almost every day. My own... For various reasons we were going to be a little short financially this month. I saw ob FB an ad for a focus group in this area, only about 10 miles away. Pay for a 0900 to 1600 meeting, light breakfast and lunch included, is $300. More than covers what we need. We just need to trust, and accept the blessings that God offers us. Alpo
I wonder if that's a southern thing? I'm sure they do buy one get one all over the country, but calling it a BOGO? It's like AUCE. There was a seafood restaurant down the road from where I worked, and on the sign out front it said MULLET AUCE. Well I've seen places serving grouper throats, so I figured maybe a mullet auce was just a little forward of the tail (spell it that way so is to not get in trouble with the po-lice?). All U Can Eat I felt kind of dumb when I found out what that meant.

Common on the weekly Safeway circulars here. Also Lucky supermarket flyers. Also B2G3...buy 2, get 3 free. Usually sodas, national brand cereals, or national brand snack crackers. Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
Interesting; maybe a regional thing...never seen 'bogo' though we have such sales of course all the time. Though it's 'buy one, get one free', which would yield bogof I suppose....
