Please explain ?  It's a cap and ball per the title, so I assume it's okay in Frontiersmen?

But can anyone explain the "WHY" ?  Is it 'too modern' or does somebody not like Uberti?

I am not one of the rule makers but from my understanding of the game, the answer is in your question. “too modern”

There is no institutional bias against Uberti, they make a large proportion of SASS firearms.

The design of this particular firearm is NOT historically accurate for any time period in the 19th century.

It IS a fine firearm in its construction and the purpose for which it was designed, which is for those who enjoy shooting cap & ball and want an affordable revolver with SAA styling. There is a market for this type of revolver (that is why Uberti makes it) just not in SASS
