Lawdog Dago Dom
Also from Kim Komando. Google Maps and reviews By default, any reviews you’ve left on Google — even just to give a restaurant five stars — are public and attached to your profile. When someone clicks on any of your reviews, they’ll be able to see all the other ones you’ve left. That’s basically a public record of where you’ve been (and when you hated the curry). No bueno. Here’s how to turn off this sharing: Open the Google Maps app. Click your profile picture in the top right. Scroll to Settings and click Personal content. Under Profile Settings, slide the toggle off next to Show your posts on your profile.

I don't have one, but thanks for thinking of us.
Pat Riot
I have a simple solution to Google tracking. I don’t use it. Even when I locked out all my personal info on Google they somehow would unlock it whenever there was an update or a change to their system. I got tired of playing games with them and removed all of their apps, except Maps, from my smartphone. I left Maps on there in case Apple Navigator went down. I haven’t needed Google maps in 2 years. I should just delete that app too.

Google generally knows who you are within 4 clicks. Even if google does not know your name, address, employment, credit rating, etc., it still owns you are "uniquely" you. Sometimes google gets it a bit wrong, for instance some ads I see are clearly indicated for my lady and ads she sees are obviously for me; this is an artifact of sharing a wifi connection. Bill Joy got it right when he said "you have no privacy." FWIW, at least doing what you can to have some degree of privacy does send a message, send it. On Chrome, I have AdBlock and Adblock Plus, and no ads. Even on youtube. They're free, too.

I assure you google still has uniquely identified you, but not seeing the ads is a good thing. Another forum I am on just expanded advertising, taking up a full third of the page. I'm about to send a PM to the forum owner. It is too much! This said, it occurs to me to call out @Misty Moonshine for not turning this forum into a monetized piece of garbage. Thank you!
