Dirty Dan Dawkins
The stuff never really excited me but by my calculations this powder goes for more money per pound/hour than a high end call-girl. Seems they should rename it…. Edited September 30 by Dirty Dan Dawkins

Seems they should rename it…. I’d rather trade it for primers or bullets… I still have a nearly full bottle. Hmmm…a new name? What would you call something that’s dirty but smells like soap? “High End Hooker” does go with that, I guess.
irish ike, SASS #43615
I've never understood the whole "Trailboss" thing! I shot it, clays, universal clays, black powder etc. Funny thing is they all go bang. When powders short buy and shoot what you can.

Promo is about the best “bang” for your buck, or at least was.
bgavin
1 hour ago, Cypress Sun said: What does a "high end call-girl" cost these days? Last summer while stuck in traffic at Lake Tahoe, my wife started looking up the rates for hookers. The highest was the "girl friend" rate of $4,000. I got lucky. Found a 5# tub of factory sealed Trail Boss here locally. $40 pound, face to face. Fair price considering the actual cost of buying and shipping powder over the internet. Far better price than the $60+ per pound charged for powders by my LGS. TB offers some nice loads for downloading in addition to filling the cartridge. Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
I'd still use TB or CLAYS if I could find it Maybe some day, when they don't want my kidney and my First Born. I'll be dismantling some .45-70s loaded with TB, UNIQUE and VARGET over the winter and salvaging the powder, since selling off some of the herd of ..45-70s I had. 1
Dirty Dan Dawkins
1 hour ago, Cypress Sun said: What does a "high end call-girl" cost these days? About $18 per pound/hour for 4 hours with a 135 lb girl. That’s at the upper end of what I’ve read about at $10,000. This doesn’t factor in any satisfaction from reloading. You may get 30 minutes actual trigger time from 5# Trail Boss, making it comparatively more expensive- pound for pound. Of course you may only get 5 minutes trigger time from the girl regardless how much time you pay for Edited September 30 by Dirty Dan Dawkins 1

Hodgdon hasn’t made any in a while now. Or I should say “any for sale to the public”.

Whitey James
I'll just stick with Titegroup. Very versatile and economical in comparison.

I get a bit "twitchy" looking at the amount of Titegroup in a .45 Colt case. Especially using the primers some are now using around here, that are affected by colder weather. I now use Starline .Cowboy 45 Specials in my SAAs and I'm saving what TB I have (and am planning on salvaging from my .45-70s) to load in the .45 Colt cartridges I use in my rifle. I think I'll be able to eke out another summer season, but after that, I don't really know: 241?

I've never tried it myself. There is a ton of extra space in my 38 cases with 3.2 grains of Titegroup but I have yet to have any issues.
Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
I used to use a filler in some of my .45-70 cases, but a fellow who seemed to know more about loading than I do, warned me about pressures. Any words of wisdom??
