This detachment is part of the 4th Marine Regiment that arrived In the Philippines from Shanghai several days before the Japanese attacked American island in the Pacific. All of the paraphernalia are given addtiional security by the regular straps of the machine-gun cart, pulled tightly over the equipment and buckled.
