New courses of fire for Marines

For details look up Militarytimes.com and other sites. Too complicated to list here, but it almost sounds like CAS, with a rifle only! Tracks the shooter's time to engage targets, as well as ability to hit body and also head shots at close ranges out to 300 meters. Sounds like they are prepping for action in the Indopacific theater!

I often wonder, is it coincidental that camo uniform color schemes change then within a couple of years we are sending men and women to fight and die in areas where that camo works? OR perhaps I am just suspicious of our gov’t and it’s corporate sponsors and any little change builds on my distrust of the scum in suits that play games with American lives for riches…

Combination of improvements in camouflage patterns for likely combat environments and the need/desire to change uniforms for "morale" reasons.

 

More cynically, they change the uniforms to keep jobs in some congress critter's state and/or district.

I think it's more the mystics in Plans & Intentions trying to predict what will be happening a few years down the pike.  Wanting to break out of the  "fighting the last war" cycle. 

 

That new course of fire looks like an attempt to be more realistic.

Looks like planning for IndoPacific activities. I note that the Air Force is reconditioning the North Field airstrips at Tinian and maybe New Calidonia or someplace! 

 

Interesting command for the Marines on the line: "Contact!"  Maybe we should start a new thing: like Wild Bunch only more up-to-date? Would we do it with leveraction rifles?

Not reversed. He's a Southpaw. Look at the side of the receiver. If the picture was reversed, the ejection port would be there.

Ah!  I couldn't find anything online about it,  but maybe they have started issuing left handed rifles to Marines who are left eye dominant.

'Contact likely means the squad has engaged the enemy in some way. Only speculating, but I would guess it's a trigger (no pun intended) word the riflemen are being trained to react to. Lots simpler than , "WHOA! WHO THE HELL IS SHOOTTING AT US!??!!
