oak creek martin Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 Why do we no longer have a pocket rulebook available for purchase? I understand that we live in a world of PDF files that we can all print at home. But printing a reduced sized version it’s a different problem. people talk frequently about wishing they were still available for purchase From SASS Mercantile. Just asking.
Leroy Luck Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 I have a copy of the handbook and both RO books on my phone. Easier to find what I’m looking for based on searching for a particular word. I’ve always got my phone, might not always have the physical books.

It used to be pocket sized....not now.

Although it's usually in my gun cart...
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 BECAUSE!! That is the short answer. The real answers (plural) are: The rule book use to be just a few pages. Now, it's a Novella and doesn't fit in "Pocket Size." In its current length, expensive to print "Pocket Size" with Front and Back covers, for limited consumption. All of which comes down to "Not Real Practical" Or: BECAUSE!!
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 We would need much larger pockets
Scarlett Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 I have pictures of pocket RO cards on my phone. If you wanted to print them you could print the book out and take it to Kinkos or Dtaples and they could print it in booklet form. Lot make it feasible… have to print a lot. But then there are changes and clarifications…. Hugs! Scarlett
Blackwater 53393 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Today’s version would be a backpack rule book!!
Chancy Shot, SASS #67163 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 My printer has "booklet" and "double sided" options in the preferences. It prints it out on both sides (prints it out on one side, then I flip them and run then thru again to get the second side.). Put staples in the center and fold in half. Presto!! I print out a new booklet after each edition is published and keep it in my gun cart. So far, I have never had to get it out. Chancy
Rip Snorter Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 All the sports and games I participated in over a long life, there was never one so complicated it required carrying a rule book. Back in time, SASS mostly didn't either. Better? Worse? Overruled?
