How does this look?

Still got to get the pants hemmed, or buy stovepipe boots, (that ain't in the cards right now), so I decided to see what it looks like now, with what I have to date. I gotta say, our ancestors were some TOUGH old birds - that stuff is HOT to wear!
The first is with the authorized Cowboy stuff, the second is with an old dress vest I had lying about...and I have, shall we say, "expanded beyond its current limitations"! That holster is the one made by Craig C on another forum, even though I probably won't use the New Model Army.

So, whaddya think, getting there, or go back to square one? I do have to say, I'm not joining to win matches, but to have fun and go shooting. So far, even just at this level, I'm having fun.

Looking good Dave!  The key is to have fun.  I am sure you will find tons of bargains at the EOT swap meet.

You are ready to shoot IMHO.

You will fit right in at any Arizona matches I’ve attended.

I think it looks pretty good.  The bowler hat is a nice variation from a cowboy hat that I like seeing from time to time.    The shirt looks like it's a 4 button pullover, correct?   I had one of those once, and I didn't keep it very long as I found it to be hard to get in and out of.  That being said, I like the CUT of the shirt and the design.   My favorite shirt is very similar to that look, but buttons fully all the way down the front.   That said, if you like the 4 button design, there is no reason not to run with it.  I have not much of an opinion on the trousers or the suspenders but they do look good.   I enjoy a good vest.  But, I usually only wear mine at the start and end of the season; it is too hot to wear it in the hottest parts of summer.   A vest with lotsa pockets is a good thing too.  You can carry ammo in your pockets to the loading table, and have a few extra rounds in one of them for reloads/misfires/jacked out live ones.   I have found that  a loose fitting vest is more comfy, and yours looks a little snug, but that can be chalked up to personal preference.  Your gunbelt looks fairly generic, but there's nothing wrong with that, I have on that looks very similar in fact.   Holster looks pretty decent.   I can't say I have one exactly like it, but I'm pretty sure I have some similar ones.    That holster should also fit a Colt or a Ruger no problem, unless it was custom molded for the Remington.   It would not hold a S&W, if that is important to you.

Overall, a very nice costume.   I'd wear it.   :)  Good luck at the range!

The belt and holster will not likely be used, as I will most likely get a Mernickle rig when I can. That belt is one of the MidwayUSA/Triple K junkers, and as soon as practical will be replaced. The holster was custom made by Craig C, found at THR or SingleActions, molded for the Remington New Model Army, and it is a VERY nice Slim Jim rig. That particular revolver, BTW, wears a Howell conversion cylinder to 45 Colt.

Thank you for the positive comments for this fat old man!

Edit to add, the shirt is a pullover from Scully Western Wear. I thought I would need the 3X, but the 2X is plenty big enough. The pants are Frontier, and my coworker has volunteered to hem them.
The vest is actually a traditional three piece suit vest I picked up for a dollar in Texas about 3 years ago...and I have expanded since then, so it's more than too tight. I am hoping to get a nice vest here very shortly.

Cold Lake Kid, whatcha gonna do without bankers, barbers and bartenders? :) Even cowboys gotta go to town once in a while, if nothing more to stock up on coffee and chewin' 'baccy! :D

You would be top 5 in costuming at just about any monthly shoot I attend.  I'm not even in the top 20.  Pack some ammo and go shoot.  Shooting is more fun than getting ready to shoot.

Oddly enough, I have almost as much fun casting and reloading. Just kidding - I was supposed to hit the range this weekend, but an upper respiratory issue kept me home instead. I don't have a choice this week, though - time for Dept annual qualification...though shooting a Glock 45 isn't nearly as much fun as my Uberti 1873 Birds Head!

A lot of those views are actually visits by bots and not real people.

No worries - I also forget what time it is for normal people since I work Graveyard. :D

Be sure the buckle in the back of the vest isn't cinched in. :)

Trust me, there is no buckle on that one - I am just too fat! 😆
