The joke is that everything inside the B-52 has been replaced at least once....except for the seat cushions. I've read that in some families at least two generations of pilots have been B-52 pilots. Handle's been replaced three times, the head twice.

Trailrider #896
I've told my doctors I intend to live until the B-52's were retired in 2050, when I would be 108. Now, with the B-52J's extending beyond that, I'll have to up my expiration date! The new engines will not only result in increased payload, but better fuel economy. Electronic upgrades will also make the BUFF better able to stay out of contested airspace with longer range attack weapons. The biggest problem facing the -J is, as always, budget problems. But that will be solved by Congress, I'm sure.
