I knew this was coming - Starlink Satellites causing astronomy issues

This new development it seems should have been discussed prior to the launch of all these satellites.

I think it’s nice that SpaceX wants to help people, but I knew there was going to come a time when these satellites would be detrimental to some things once placed in orbit.

Reminds me of the orbiting junk in my favorite animated movie, Wall-E:

This was inevitable, I've been saying it for years now.

And, it's not about helping people...it's about making money.

A friend on a remote ranch could not get a reliable and useful connection.  With Starlink, he gets excellent results, phone, & computer.  There are plenty of others, i am sure.  Though we have fiber optic, for land line and computer, no cell service on our ranch either.  I actually prefer it that way.  For those who don't now there is an option.

We need a “tongue in cheek” emoji. ;)

For those complaining radio astronomers, I have one solution, although it won't happen immediately...radio antennas on the far side of the Moon. NO interference from Earth or earth-orbiting satellites! Relay the date via Lunar-orbiting satellite in a halo orbit.

Add a femtocell to your home network.  A femtocell is a micro cellular base station.  It has greater range than as wifi.  Of course you could add wifi repeaters to increase the wifi coverage area.

Elon Musk probably already has a plan.

I prefer not having cell phone use on the property.  If the kids are working off site during a visit, they can work wireless off our router.  Other than work, when here, they enjoy the return to times past and aren't even carrying their phones.  My Wife is the tech, I'm sure she could get us set up one way or the other.  Thanks, though.
