That way the people who set them on a near-by table or something would go to get the pager and be in closer proximity when it exploded. the pagers started playing a tune… so the targets might hold them up to their ears Edited September 19 by WOLFY 1

I see smartphone zombies of all ages everywhere. I especially see them, old AND young at my gym. They're sitting on a piece of equipment I want to use, fiddling on their phones instead of actually working out. I see them in restaurants. Groups of people, small and large, sometimes entire families, sitting together, ALL on their smartphones instead of enjoying each other's company. I have gotten all the way through a day and and gone to put my smartphone back on the charger to find I never turned the thing on. And never noticed - or cared - that it was off. I occasionally use it for GPS map directions and that's actually pretty much it.

And I don't use it much. I only carry it with me when I leave the house, and I only use it to make the occasional call. I don't text, and I for DARN sure don't try to use my phone as a confuser to check my email and such. As for social media, this is pretty much it. No Fake Book, no Tic Tac, no Instacrap, none of it. There's nothing going on in the world that I need to know about that can't wait until I get home to see it.

Hungary contracted manufacture which could well have been in Taiwan. At some point, Hezbollah placed an order for several thousand pagers. In the supply chain somewhere between the Hungarian company and final delivery, Mossad interceded. And did so for hand-held radios (for which I know no details). The Mossad detail is rumored but I have seen no viable alternative theories. I do have one problem with the operation,. Setting them off when non-combatants could be (and clearly were) present like markets or in vehicles driving down city streets. I recognize human shields are a part of how these groups function, and recognize this reinforces their agenda.
Chantry
Would it be wrong to call this "Operation Grim Beeper"? I stole it from elsewhere on the internet, although I am mildly disappointed I didn't think of it myself.

Even if some of these people are "non-combatants", they all stand up and cheer when the "combatants" kill and maim anybody who doesn't believe the same as they do. The "non-combatants" aren't saying "STOP THAT!" to those who are shooting at, firing rockets at, blowing up, or otherwise waging war on others, who just about a year ago were going about their business, living their daily lives, doing NOTHING to provoke anybody. Their people started this thing, and the "non-combatants" are complicit in the death and destruction that has been going on ever since. As far as I'm concerned, they deserve no more mercy than the "combatants". Moderators, as always, if my commentary is over the line, please do what you must and I'll understand. Widder, SASS #59054
I don't understand the problem. Mossad has help hasten many of them into their 'hereafter' where 70 virgins are waiting for them. What more could they ask for? Of course, for those who were carrying their pagers in their pants pocket, 70 virgins don't do you much good when you enter your eternity with your 'manliness' blown off. ..........Widder Edited September 20 by Widder, SASS #59054 1 1

J.D. Daily
The video on the internet where a man is selecting produce in a Beirut market shows the blast is localized in his groin area. From what I herd is the walki talki explosions destroyed the interiors of apartments with the blast blowing out windows. P.S. The queen of the squad made a fool out of herself with her demanding that Congress investigate Israel's violation of the rules of war.
