usmc69 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Was at the local gun show today. On one table there was a Uberti Schofield in .45 Colt. Condition was maybe 80-90%. Asking price was $800 and he has the box. I felt it was a bit on the high side. I looked my 43rd Edition Blue Book and it gives me a rice of $695 in 100% condition. Am I missing something?
PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 True Gun Value lists prices for average 80% condition higher than that.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Not sure what the books say but I don't know if I've seen a schofield go for as little as $695. But hey, it's a gunshow, you're supposed to haggle him down.
Wyatt Earp SASS#1628L Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 I paid $1200 for mine (new) about two years ago. Now they run about $1350, same store. $800 seems reasonable for the condition described. If I had the option at the time, I'd go with the used one. $4-500 would buy a nice holster and lots of ammo.
Blackwater 53393 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 I sold the last of my Uberti #3 Russian in .44 Russian four or five years ago for $950.00. It was probably 90% and had the original box and grips. I’d be asking $1300.00 or more for it today.
usmc69 Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 Thanks for the info. My look at it some more tomorrow. Show him Seven Franklins and see if that helps.
Lunger Dan Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Make sure the recoil shield is not donut-ed. Common problem on the Uberti schofields-and I sold one like that to a popular traveling gun show manager/owner? here in NC....basically unfixable...will not allow cylinder to turn after firing due to brass flowing into the donut This was on a Stoeger Uberti (some are taylor, some stoeger..uberti just brings them)
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I would say that's not a bad price by today's standard. Have you priced new ones?
