Black Hills Barb Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 (edited) UPDATE: Registration forms for both the CAS and WB matches and other match information can be found on the El Posse Grande website. NMSO Info and registration forms. Registration for both have been coming in. It looks like the Wild Bunch match will fill up quickly, so don't delay. Since it's our first, it will be a 6 stage, one day match at the bargain fee of only $30. We have limited WB registration to 50 shooters. I always call our committee "small but mighty". They are about to double my admiration and respect as Memorial Day weekend 2025 draws near. Not only are we hosting the Cowboy Action Shooting state match, but we are adding the Wild Bunch Action Shooting state match as well. Two championship matches in one weekend! Yeehaw! It's been quite a while, over 11 years, since PA hosted a WB State Championship, and we chose to end that streak. I'm still looking for the date of the last WB championship match though. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear from you. The WB match will take place on Friday, May 23. It will be a 6 stage match. Cholula Mike will serve as the WB Match Director. Friday is also CAS side match day. The CAS championship match will be a 10 stage match on Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25. Happy Valley Harlot and myself are MDs for that match. Our first item of business is to update the El Posse Grande website. You can expect that to be completed by the end of October. Please bear with us. Until that time, if you just can't wait, info on the WB match can be obtained by contacting Cholula Mike (mnielsen1911@gmail.com). For info on the CAS match, you can contact me (basnyder1@comcast.net). Edited January 1 by Black Hills Barb 5 Quote

Scout It should be within a week or so. However, if you go to our FB page El Posse Grande, the forms are there. Our website needs several changes and it's taking longer than usual to get everything updated. 1 Quote
Black Hills Barb Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Hey Cowtown Scout! The website is updated and the forms are up! NMSO XXV – SASS PA State Championship 2025 and SASS PA State Wild Bunch Championship – El Posse Grande 1 Quote
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Just mailed my entry, really looking forward to it. Will be traveling there from Georgia State which is the weekend before. This will be my first time shooting Cowboy Action in PA. I have however shot the National Championships for Rifle Silhouette both Smallbore and Highpower there many times in the past. 2 Quote
Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I dropped Holli and my applications in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to another good time. I just need to figure a way to motorize that dang cart of mine to get it up the hill! 2 Quote
Black Hills Barb Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 Yeehaw! I got the registrations from Dogmeat & Holli and Cowtown Scout, along with a bunch more. I'll get them entered and confirmed this weekend....I hope. I spent all week sewing shirts. The weekend is for cowboying. We will work at the club tomorrow and once we're home, I'll work on everything else cowboy. 1 Quote

I usually wait until there's a reasonable number signed up. I'm sharing the club computer and it's in my hands right now. 1 Quote

Black Hills Barb Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Thanks for the bump up, Cowtown Scout! I hate to sound like most retirees but, I don't know how I had time to hold down a job. This retirement thing has me busy every waking hour. Between working on the state match, working at the cowboy range, keeping up with my little sewing sweatshop, and the inevitable housework and other day to day responsibilities, where did I ever find the time to be employed. The state match planning is well underway. This weekend is the first posse match of our 2025 season. I'll be at the range tomorrow. Sometimes we have lots to do because winter was hard on Spook Hollow. However, this past winter wasn't too terrible bad. We have some repairs to make at the clubhouse and we have a train car to rebuild. The rest of the range faired pretty well...thankfully. Get those registrations in by 3/31 if you want to get the discount! I share the posse computer and just got it back today. Now I have a nice stack of registration forms to get entered. I also have to set up the scoring program for this Sunday's match. The fun never ends. One bright note - we have been playing trivia on Sunday's since January. We have held onto 2nd place and it hasn't always been easy. The final round last week was to identify the movie or TV show that each of the 12 pictures on the page were from. We had 3 minutes. In only 2 minutes we were done and turned the paper in. The 12 pics were taking from shows from Rawhide to Yellowstone. Yeehaw! This Sunday we shoot. Our teammates need to keep that 1st place slot for the win! 2 Quote
