Irish Pat Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I may bring a couple of pistols to sell. Is anyone else bringing anything?

Griff Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Whatever else you may do, let's make sure you comply with CA laws of idiocy while in TX.;.. Don't forget to make sure that it has a Prop 65 Warning...
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 FYI, Phantom is a FFL. He is also a PRK escapee. Great person to posse with

Or...is this the best you can do regarding the issue? I'm surprised that you didn't use the common comeback response "well...yer not from Texas". Phantom Now, why would I want to skip an opportunity to inject a little levity? And why would I make myself into a hypocrite when I unashamedly admit I escaped from the "land of fruits, flakes & nuts" some 34+ years ago after being raised & educated there; and when I firmly believe one doesn't HAVE to be born here to be a "good" Texan. Why none of the Republic's founders were born, raised or even educated in Texas... But unless my information has suffered a serious gap, none were from California,
Gray Gunz Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 To get this back on topic… I am going to Comin At Cha and it is going to be my first big SASS match. What kinds of things will be available at the Swap Meet? Being new to the Sport I am hoping to find a screw knife and other odds and ends.

Reloading supplies, firearms, clothing, Leather goods, reloading equipment, grips and a whole lot more. There will also be vendors there selling leather, bullets, reloading supplies and firearms. There should be a cowboy gunsmith or two there as well.
Cotton Eye Joe Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Why's it the last Comin' At Cha match?

Dapper Dave Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Which leads me to ask - do we have SASS style swap meets here in AZ? I'd love to go to Texas, in fact, I might retire there in a few years...but I am a complete newbie as well, very little gear at all.
Cholla Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 End of Trail will have one. Folks often bring items to Bordertown.
SHOOTIN FOX Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 No offense taken. It was stated that the shooter would have to take the firearm home and ship it to a FFL. There are numerous ways to transfer legally without that step. I do not have a dog in the hunt. Just asking a question. Fox
Sawyer Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I remember the good old days when a purchase price was agreed on, money changed hands, followed by a firm handshake! Done deal, everybody is happy, and nobody talks about it on the SASS Wire!

John Kloehr Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I always assume a seller will comply with all legal requirements of a transfer, just as I will too as a buyer. And this would also be true if I was the seller. Does not matter which state we meet in and make the deal, we will both do what is required to make a legal transfer. That we leave these details out of discussions and offers here does not change this simple truth. I'm sick of TV ads where a bunch of legal verbiage comes rapid-fire at the end of the ad, we all know this stuff. That said, I may still pop my head up when someone offers to send primers by mail, or sell personal reloads. Just do not see many folks who have no clue there are transfer requirements for arms, or that ATF folks troll shows looking for idiots.
Eliphalet R. Moderator Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 SASS members are not the only people who read the Wire. Members of various agencies do also. SASS recommends that all firearm transfers are done in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. We'd rather see you at a match and not the graybar hotel.
