Marshal Dan Troop 70448
About a month ago, little longer actually, I saw this on YouTube and started my interest in learning more about Ike. Bought several books and learning more about a President, soldier, General, and each one stirred an interest in one we hardly talk about or few remember except for maybe a movie like The Longest Day. 2
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Marshal, if you can find a copy, I recommend his autobiography "At Ease: Stories I tell to friends." Published over fifty years ago, but a good read! Edited September 6 by Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 3
J-BAR #18287
If this was not part of your first reading, I recommend it.

Pat Riot
My ship sailed with the “Ike”, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN-69. Originally it was to be called the “Eisenhower”. According to Navy “Lifers”, people at first thought the ship was a tribute to FDR. That would not do. So the Dept of the Navy updated the name so there would be no doubt. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Dwight_D._Eisenhower
