Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
Probably not. They can only get DNA from the bulb at the root of the hair follicle. As long as Locks of Love doesn't use that part, she's fine.
Ozark Huckleberry
I always figured if I was going to commit a crime, I’d pick up a bunch of brass from the local range and scatter it at the crime scene. 1

Yea..... I've thought the same thing. PLUS, I would consider using a revolver and still scatter a bunch of semi-auto brass around. I would also consider leaving a Coke/Pepsi, etc... ..... OR, an empty DQ Banana Split bowl. 😀 ..........Widder 1 1

At the indoor range I shoot at, they have brooms and dustpans available. I dump my brass rom the dustpan into a cloth bag, so I never touch them until I go to sort them. If I WERE to contemplate such an act, I'd just dump a bunch of the brass from the bag to the ground. "But what if your fingerprints ARE on some of the brass, you having fired it?" I'm glad you asked. My 'prints would just be among the assorted 'prints on random brass. 44 minutes ago, Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L said: and wear way too big boots while you're at it High Heels!👠 2 1

I thought about this, and it just seems it'd be better if you could get brass from one of the informal 'public' ranges -- you know, the ones with shot-up TV sets, cans, that sort of thing. An indoor range would likely have better-conditioned brass, but the fingerprints from the outdoor end-of-road ranges would probably yield some more interesting characters. Pull some of the fingerprints offa those, and the LEOs would be like, "Yeah, not surprised. Let's go pick Bubba up."

But with the dust and dirt that would be on the brass it would be obvious that it wasn't organic to the scene.

But I think fifty different sets of fingerprints on the brass would have given even Clouseau a clue.
