Bruce Martin
Real quick, I just obtained a nice pair of SASS 4.5" Ruger Vaqueros. I want new left and right holsters. I need some names of quality holster providers, preferably under $200/unit. Thanks I've looked at the Google selection. Found them lacking

Barry Sloe
If these are your first holsters make sure that you look hard at the different styles. Holsters on top of the belt or dropped in the busqudera (sp) rig? Ensure it's comfortable for you. BS
TN Mongo, SASS #61450
Nothing wrong with the makers listed above. Next to your cowboy guns, good leather will be your next biggest expense. If you haven't shot a match yet, shoot one with borrowed or second-hand leather before you drop several hundred dollars on a good rig. Look, and possibly try, other shooters leather before you take the new rig plunge. If you ask around, or check the national and local classified forums, you might find a good used rig to get you started until you determine what you really want. Mernickle and Kirkpatrick make great rigs, but there are also a number of really good regional makers that can make you a quality rig exactly the way you want for a similar price of a production model from the big makers. It's worth the time to really do your homework before purchasing.
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321
You are going to get s lot of recommendation here on the wire. My suggestion is go to your club and look at holsters the shooters are using. Ask them why they pick their particular style holster. They may even let you try them on. A 200.00/unit is going cheap on those pair of nice Rugers you got. I assume that you've spent close to 2 grand on them Rugers, why not spend for a great holster rig that will last for years. Like others have said "buy once, cry once". A good quality holster will last for a long time and money well spent. Mernickle Holsters Kirkpatrick Leathers J-M Leathers Ted Blocker Leather Indian Creek Leather Other pards might chime in with some recommendation. Good luck

Buckeye Pete, SASS # 29941
My plug is for Kirkpatrick holsters. I bought a Longhunter-04 model double strong side rig from them in 2006 and it has held up very well. I just got the bug for a crossdraw holster and called them to see if they could still make it. I talked to Rachel Kirkpatrick and she said "sure we can"! I can't wait for it to arrive. So my advice is to buy from an established maker and buy a good set that fits you. I bought holsters to fit 5 1/2" holsters when I ordered them in '06 even though I was shooting 4 5/8" Vaqueros at the time. Good thing, cause back in 2012 I switched to 5 1/2" Vaqueros. Also, I've had belts with bullet loops across the back. They look cool, but they get real heavy when filled up, especially with large caliber cartridges. Good luck!
