Alpo
Lee used to supply their dies in a round container. Stupid. Made it hard to store. Now they come in a square box, which is an improvement, but it is difficult to open. MTM used to sell a box it was the size of a hundred box for 44 Magnum, but it had no cell divisions in it. This was an excellent box for storing your dies in, when you threw that stupid red cylinder away. So of course they no longer make that. So what I'm looking for is a utility box approximately 4 inches square and one and a half inch deep. With a hinge and an easy to open latch. That won't break the bank. Dillon has some, but they're about $10 each. I was hoping for something in the three or four dollar range.
Ozark Huckleberry
Have you tried going to Amazon, typing 'plastic box 4X4X1.5' in the search bar to see what you get?

Horace Patootie, SASS #35798
I have a Dillon 550, but also have two Lee turret presses. I bought this to store the other turrets/dies in. Works great. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=lee+4+hole+turret+die+holder+rack&crid=1XV1SHKIPPH79&sprefix=%2Caps%2C81&ref=nb_sb_ss_recent_5_0_recent Horace
Cypress Sun
For some reason, many people throw those boxes away or pack them away and never use them again. Try putting a WTB (want to buy) ad in the Classifieds here and on other boards, you'll probably get folks wanting just shipping and the boxes for free.

No I hadn't. So I just tried. And this is what I found. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09NRGVLMF/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A9GHIHDCPCW2Q&psc=1 Four pack for about 3.50 each. They're long enough and why WIDE, IDIOT enough and more importantly high enough. There were some others that were cheaper but they need to be at least an inch and a quarter deep or the lock rings won't fit. Thank you. I tried Amazon but I didn't phrase it that way and they didn't appear to have what I needed. But now they do. Because it's no longer attached it's just sitting there. I may go that route though. Edited September 2 by Alpo

The other way it flops right off. What I did was I just trimmed a little off the red tabs that hold the box lid on. This way the lid doesn’t pop off easily and is somewhat secure but just a little pressure under the lid it comes right off. Just take a little piece of sandpaper and trim them a little. I threw those darn red circular cases away. I recycled them. I do still have one with .44 Magnum dies in it. I still cannot figure out where they came from as I have never owned a .44 Magnum. Think the 170 rule and go another few degree. I'm thinkin I have a clue as to why you ask so many questions. If you go 180 they just drop on and the little tabs don't lock them on. kR Edited September 3 by Kid Rich
Sedalia Dave
I have had really good luck with small storage containers made by Sistema. They are stackable. The lids attach securely; yet are easy to open. You can find them on Amazon at target and wally world. They come in a wide variety of sizes. I like the 1L and 2L rectangular boxes for storing bullets that I cast myself. The 400ml rectangular box holds about 150 loaded 357 rounds. I can fill two boxes and have enough ammo for a match. The 400ml size is also just big enough to hold a tool head and pieces necessary for a caliber change for my SDB.
Alpo
Midway used to sell these. (The gun is there for scale.) Made by Frankford arsenal I believe. Back when they used to sell a whole bunch of stuff made by Frankford arsenal. The big box will hold 250 or thereabouts 45 caliber bullets. And the little box came in handy for all kinds of little things. So, of course, they no longer carry them.

Sedalia Dave
1 hour ago, Rip Snorter said: Here https://mtmcase-gard.com/ The box Alpo is looking for has been discontinued by MTM. I have 3 of them and wish I had a dozen more. The closest they make now is the MTM PMC5 Compact Handgun Magazine Case. It is the same size as what Alpo is looking to replace but it has plastic dividers inside to keep the magazines organized. I have a few of those for double stack magazine storage. Unfortunately there is not one for single stack magazine storage. I use the one without the dividers for storing 1911 magazines. IIRC the box will hold 10 full size 1911 magazines. It fits perfectly into a 50 cal ammo can along with two 100 round boxes of 44WCF, four 100 round boxes of 45ACP, and an Uplula magazine loader. When I travel for matches I always have plenty of WB ammo in a convenient carry case. A 2nd 50 cal box holds plenty of SG ammo. When I get home this evening I'll look at the ones I have and see what the MTM part number is. Edited September 3 by Sedalia Dave

Alpo
The dark blue square one is the MTM box that has been discontinued. The light blue rectangular one is from Dillon - also discontinued. Dillon now has this - four and a half by six and a half, for $10. https://www.dillonprecision.com/13636 That old Dillon box made a great die box. I have at least six of them. Wish I had more. But not at $10 each.

China marking pencils work well and wipe off with a touch of Hoppes. IMHO, better than labels which can be a PITA over time.
Cypress Sun
41 minutes ago, Seldom Seen #16162 said: Does it come with a way to label the contents on the end of the box? I don't know, that'd be a question for Lee. I keep the empty boxes w/original labels in case I remove the dies from the 550 blocks for storage or resale. Everything else I label with a label maker. Eyesa Horg
Check out a craft store like Michael's for a plastic box with dividers. Better to keep the dies from banging into each other. Amazon has bunches of different styles and prices as well.
