Federal Lawman, SASS #40004 Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Anyone have a schematic of the firing mechanism for the above revolver or is familiar with one. Thanks, FL
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Look up "S & W Model 3 schematic". E bay has exploded version.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Howdy FL, no I don't know anything about them. But I copied some info from one of David Chicoine's gunsmithing books. Not a schematic but a parts diagram and function explanation, might help. Note that the first part of page 242 is the end of the single-action section. Good luck.
Federal Lawman, SASS #40004 Posted August 31, 2024 Author Posted August 31, 2024 Abilene, "you da man", exactly what I need. Thank you, pard FL
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 There is a parts schematic for them on Numrich. What's your trouble?
Federal Lawman, SASS #40004 Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 Friends revolver which he obtained from a relative. When you pull the trigger, hammer falls, trigger does not reset. You have to pull hammer back, slightly which allows trigger reset. Also cannot be cocked for single action. Somebody had opened sideplate and it isn't sitting flush in frame. Some spring or something is keeping sideplate from laying flat. Before I open it, I want to get a "lay of the land" so I don't have parts flying out, etc. Schematic shows me parts and general location.
