Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War

Recommended Posts

I HAVEN'T WATCHED ALL OF IT YET.  I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT THE COWBOYS WERE IDENTIFIED BY WEARING A RED SASH.  NOW I LEARN THAT THEY WERE IDENTIFIED BY A RATTLESNAKE HATBAND.  WHERE OH WHERE LIES THE TRUTH.

I'm burning through it. I won't say CAS ruined watching cowboy movies/shows for me. But I keep seeing inaccuracies and things that make me go hmmmm. The buscadero holster seen is the same cheap first holster I bought. And you see many Denix revolvers. After seeing Tombstone, I would never had guessed that Ike Clanton had that big of an influence in the cowboys. And the red sash debate, and now it's a rattlesnake hatband? Overall, it's worth a watch, and Ed Harris is a GREAT narrator. Oh, and jeez costumers, can the main characters change their outfits??

The costuming and weapons are mediocre, but (as a retired Advanced Placement American history teacher) I never knew the national implications of the Earp - cowboys feud.  I learned something I never knew about the involvement of J.P. Morgan and Chester A. Arthur.

I'm at the point where the case against the Earps was dismissed.
I watch this when my bride is out of the house doing something else, as she isn't much for horse operas.
