Texas Jack Black
Have you learned from the last shortages? have you stocked up for the next 4 years or 8 just in case. I hope so. Or do we see whining and fussing about shortages and how you have no supplies. Best Wishes

Widder, SASS #59054
The fussing and complaining about shortages was justified from many because we went from the availability of primers at approx $175 per case............ then there were NONE, except at gun shows for a whopping $800-$1000 per case. Seems 'our own' fellow gun owners, shooters, vendors, etc....... were putting the screws to us in just a matter of weeks. I can't speak for others, but primers and .22 ammo was still in abundance....... but only at gun shows with prices too high to pay. I think that is where most of the complaining was coming from. Today, primers are advertised anywhere from the $60+ dollar range (per brick) up to $100 per brick. And when nobody seemed to have any .22 ammo, Walmart would still get their allotment every week, the scalpers would show up (or their own employees friends) when the shipments arrived, and buy them all at Walmart prices. Then at the next gun show, the .22's would be there at nearly 3 to 5 times the Walmart prices. I would see CCI Mini-Mag 100 round packs for $50 and up. Walmart prices were still around $12 per pack when you could get there before the scalpers. I never ran low on primers or .22 ammo........ and I sold 5 cases of primers to friends during the shortage for $175 per case. It will now cost me approx $800 per case to replace those primers. The very folks whom we often share the breakfast table were poisoning the chicken for supper. ..........Widder 4 5

Blackwater 53393
Having been laid up for most of the last several years, I haven’t been able to shoot much, thus creating a buildup of ammunition and components on my shelves. To escape the boredom and preserve some small portion of my sanity, I set up most of my reloading equipment in a room in the house and began short sessions of reloading. I figure I’ll soon deplete some of my stash of primers and smokeless powder to the point where I have to start resupplying, but it will only be for cowboy ammo and such. My “other” stuff remains well stocked.

I gave a few thousand to a couple to keep them shooting when they were scarce. It would have been easy to sell some to friends as you did for close to what you paid for them, pre covid, in anticipation of buying more when prices dropped back to normal. But as you pointed out that didn't happen. Replacement now isn't at what prices were at the peak but still much more then they used to be. Colorado Coffinmaker
I admit to being well supplied. At least for the next three or four seasons. However, it must be acknowledged, Fussing, Whining and Sniveling over the availability and price of components has become Du Rigger. If some folks wern't Fussing, Whining and Sniveling, we'd have to request a Welfare Check to see if they were still alive 1
John Kloehr
Not 4 to 8 years. 2 to 3 weeks before all vehicles are out of fuel. A few more chilis and stews before I need some more canned goods (some, not all). Time to restock various baggies, plenty of foil and plastic wraps, parchment, and such. Low on ziplock bags. Going to top off local honey. Definitely need more toilet paper. Is it socially acceptable yet to buy a cart full if it goes on sake? Not that I have seen a sale, but how I used to buy it before the dampanic. Oil and filters for a year or two in the garage for the vehicles. A few other parts I know I am going to need and picked up with good pricing post-CoViD. Topped off my ammo cabinet a month or two ago.

Blackwater 53393
Watching one of those gold commercials the other day, I pointed out to Scgoolmarm that when the SHTF gold won’t be as big of a commodity as lead and powder!!
J.D. Daily
I feel comfortable when I have 10K of each size of primers. I am short 8000 for large rifle; however, I bought 2000 large pistol magnum when a good price was $125 online. The next lot I bought 5000 large pistol primers for $60. I've got plenty of TrailBoss since I bought 8lbs when that size was dropped and 4 lbs. when I heard it was no longer available.
