Beretta Laramie

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here have one?

I understand they were made by Uberti for Beretta and that they are a very close copy of the S&W #3 New Model Frontier and that they aren't SASS acceptable because of the rear sight.

They are supposed to be available in .45 Colt and have 6 1/2" barrels.  It is also said that they have a rebounding hammer.

Now then, the questions:

Are there any safety or functioning issues with these guns?

Do they shoot high like many of the repro #3 pistols?

What are the the grips made of?

What finishes do they have?

What are any of them selling for, and where might I find one?

Are they liked more or less than the other S&W big bore #3 guns?

The Laramie is acceptable "as is" in all SASS categories that allow adjustable sights.

It can be converted, though:

The Beretta “Laramie” rear latch with the adjustable rear sight may be replaced
with the rear latch (with fixed sight) from the “Russian” Model to be allowed as a
fixed sight model revolver.

I bought a  First Model American from Cimarron about two years ago.  8'" nickel plated, checkered walnut grips, .45 Colt.  I wanted on in .44 Special but it never came in, so I took a .45.  Glad I did because all my other CAS belt guns are in that caliber and one of my rifles is, too.

I took me almost a year to get it and was well worth the wait.

No one has the American in nickel any more and there were only about with the checkered grips.  It's a great, elegant gun with only two faults: it's as heavy as a school bus and all the weights seems to be in the muzzle.

Anyway, I see  a lot of Schofields and third model Russians around but I have an urge for something different.

Thanks for the input.  Now I'll start shopping around.
