Turquoise Bill, SASS #39118 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 We received the sad news on Friday August 8th that our current co-match director for the Whiskey Row Gunslinger passed away during a bike riding incident in Prescott, AZ near his home in Williamson Valley. Wolfie took over the duties as match director back in 2019 and was also helping run the Wild Bunch matches here in Prescott. He will be sorely missed. He always had a kind word for everyone. Condolences to his partner Kathleen. We will do a shotgun salute to him during our August match on the 24th. Via con dios pard! TB
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Condolences and prayers. Sad news indeed.
Kirk James Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Very sorry to hear this. Our prayers go out to Charles and his family.
Tex Wilson Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 I was shocked to say the least when I heard of Wolfie's passing. When I first started shooting SASS with the Whiskey Row Gunslingers in Prescott, Wolfie was my mentor. As time went on Wolfie became a good friend who did reloading for me, and he helped me with working on my firearms. Barb and I would get together with Wolfie and his significant other, Kathleen, (Dare Me Darlin') every Tuesday for taco Tuesday in Chino Valley. And of course, Wolfie would join all his pards for breakfast every Thursday morning at Zeke's Eatin' Place in Prescott. Wolfie would help all his cowboy friends new and old with reloading and giving advice on Cowboy Action Shooting. I will miss Wolfie, our many hours of conversation, our friendship and comradery. You've reached the end of the trail my friend, and one day we will meet again. Rest In Peace pard. Prayers are up for you, Kathleen and your respective families. TexWilson
Chickamauga Charlie, SASS #47963 Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 He was a good guy. Hated to lose him to AZ, hate to lose him this way even more.
