Businesses long gone

Recommended Posts

FYI...just because a company moved out of your neighborhood, city, or state doesn't mean it's "long gone".
Random searches on some of those listed indicate that some of them are still in business.

Including BLOCKBUSTER (I just called the store & verified that it is OPEN)

My understanding is that there is only one of them left in the entire world, in Oregon. There used to be one on every corner so it seemed.

Fry's Grocery stores. Last to use union checkout employees, folded due to costs of not utilizing bar codes on products, costs of putting price stickers on every item.

Frys was bought by Krogers, and as Tex Wilson said, is still here in Az. Their "house" brand is Krogers.

We have Fry's here,  Kroger owned now and I hate the place.  Problem is we only have Fry's and Safeway....not much selection.

This brings up the question, is a franchise gone if it has closed almost all locations?

if I can’t go to a shop and actually look at an example of an item, IMO, it’s gone.

I might as well look on Amazon or eBay.
